As could be expected, satan started a rumor that has become a belief among many people. Since most people don’t study the Bible to learn the truth themselves, they are under the impression that Heaven will be boring as well as being similar to attending church every day. This sounds boring to me, how about you?
Some people will even go to extremes in believing that we’ll float around with wings and halos, and be sitting on clouds playing harps throughout eternity! This sounds boring to me also, how about you?
But if you really think about these rumors, don’t you find it too illogical to even fathom? Do you actually believe for one moment that it would be in God’s character to take the children He dearly loves and treat them in this manner?
I mean, a God who can create such beauty you find when looking at a snow-capped mountain, a clear running stream or the sun, moon and planets; would certainly be much more creative than this. I doubt that attending church 24 hours a day and floating from cloud to cloud with halos glowing around on our heads is on the schedule! Come on.
In fact — God is so creative and life will so wonderful that we cannot conceive it in our present limited mind what riches and glory await us in heaven. If we did, we would all commit suicide; which is why God placed the fear of death in each one of us.
So why do people keep this rumor active from generation to generation? Remember that satan wants to keep you OUT of Heaven and he (or one of his demons) will try and convince you that Heaven is boring. This way, you won’t really want to go there. In fact, satan will try to convince you that hell is going to be a big party. He tells his followers that all their friends will be there drinking and laughing throughout eternity; experiencing total freedom without any rules or regulations!
Can you not see how this line of reasoning entirely reeks of Satan? Show me where any Bible scripture exists that states these facts concerning hell. There are none. And if anyone should quote this nonsense, ask them to back it up with 1611 King James Bible scripture. They will never be able to do it.
Always remember that anything that sways you to believe that doing wrong and being selfish is “right” is certainly birthed from satan. You can count on it! God’s Way is righteousness, goodness, unending love, unselfishness and anything opposite from satan.
Now, let’s go to the Bible and see what God has to say about our life with Him:
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
That’s right; no one could even begin to grasp the beautiful and wonderful life we will have when we go to live with God — our Creator.
Let’s relate this thought to a little child growing up on this planet. If a baby is born into a wealthy family, that child is not aware of the riches and benefits he will have access to during his mortal life on this planet. All the baby wants right now are the fulfillment of three basic needs: food, sleep and love.
A newborn infant in this situation could never grasp the understanding of what his or her future holds in store for him. Even if the parents sat beside his bed and told them; the child can only hear the rhythm and sound of the voices. The baby does not have the brain capacity to understand the meaning of the words at this stage of his development.
Besides, the child has never experienced the pain of poverty or rejection from society to appreciate the wealthy society they will grow up in. They don’t know the importance of a college education and how they will be able to attend any one of their choice. There is simply no way to relate the magnificent future ahead for this child simply because his or her parents are wealthy and will be able to provide them with almost every material need in life. Again, all the child is interested in at this point is food, sleep and love.
So it is the same with us. God cannot even begin to explain to us the benefits of living with Him in eternity. Not only are our minds unable to understand the concept of eternity without end, but we could never understand the benefits of Heaven even if God told us. Therefore, we have no choice but to trust that God knows what He is doing and leave the rest to Him.
But even though God may not be able to tell us in a manner that we can understand what it will be like living in Heaven at this point in our lives, He does give us some idea in an effort for us to avoid going to hell. God provides us with information that we can identify to some degree, such as no sickness, no sorrow and no death. We’ll also be restored to our resurrected spiritual bodies that will never die.
How long has mankind been searching for the fountain of youth here on earth? How many people alter their bodies to remove the signs of aging? Or how about people who dye their hair and date younger people just to try and hold on to youth a little longer? These mannerisms are certainly not going to in themselves send a person to hell; but they are silly to pursue when you know the truth.
Eternal youth can never be purchased at a Hollywood salon. Eternal youth only be obtained through a relationship with our Creator as well as a love, respect and passion for Jesus Christ. And one day you will be restored to your resurrected spiritual body. Each one of us has one. The flesh body is a temporary house for your soul at the present time. But just like a locust sheds its skin a certain time of the year, we will shed these physical bodies that die, one day soon.
Interesting? What else will there be to do in Heaven? We will experience such peace and serenity that we will never grow tired of it. This is hard to imagine in the state of sinful mind that we are all in now.
Since mankind’s nature is to compete and strive to be better than he or she is right now; if problems and situations beyond our control would be eliminated, life would be pretty dull. While we all want peace and quiet, a human being will go insane if they are left alone for too long of a time.
However, due to the fact that our bodies will be changed and our thoughts and intelligence elevated to communicate one-on-one with God — this peace and total serenity will be our life blood of existence. Peace and serenity will be a way of life, the “norm” and the expected. Anything less will not be thrilling to us anymore.
For me, I believe one of the greatest benefits of Heaven will be meeting and talking to God face-to-face. Adam walked and talked with God in this manner. Can you imagine that? We will walk along beside God while He explains in detail how He created the universe as well as helping us understand the mysteries of life we have wondered so long about. His wisdom is so great that we will spend eternity learning from God and worshiping Him because of his greatness. Our minds will grow to intelligent levels far above Albert Einstein. In fact, Albert’s mind will appear to us as a mindless infidel when we are in the presence of God. (Note: Albert Einstein was educated by satan, not God.)
Like many people I talk to, your next question may be: “Will we remember the past and know our loved ones?” I have never found a specific verse in the Bible that answers this question clearly for me, but when I think about the question I think about several other things.
First of all, as a human being living on this planet in an earthly body; it is comforting to know that I will be able to recognize people I loved and hated while living during my time. But then again, if I think a second time; I don’t know if I want to recognize all these people or not. For example, I do not know for sure if my brother was saved. He died an alcoholic denying Jesus Christ. I would hate to be in attendance at the Judgment Seat of Christ and watch my brother be sent to hell. So I wonder if I really want to recognize every person or not.
And there is also a second angle to consider; will I be thinking with the same mind I have today when I am with God? I don’t think so. Instead, my mind will be elevated and this question will not be as important as it is to me while living on earth.
Or we could look at the question in a third manner: Does a baby remember being a baby? And if he or she does remember bits and pieces from their early years, do they really care? Do you care today that your Mom didn’t buy you that blueberry bubble gum back in 19–? The blueberry bubble gum meant everything to you right at that moment when you were a child, but when you look at it now; you probably don’t even remember the incident happening.
I believe that this is one small example of how our past life here on earth will appear to us when we are with God. Therefore, I do not think it matters if we will recognize loved ones as much as if we ourselves have eternal life with Jesus Christ.
