The founding fathers of the United States are revered as God-fearing men who developed a country founded upon Biblical principles.  Unfortunately, this scenario is only partially true.  Allow me to explain:

The founding fathers of the United States are comprised of Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, John Jay, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton.  These men were political leaders and statesmen who participated in the American Revolution by signing the United States Declaration of Independence, taking part in the American Revolutionary War, establishing the United States Constitution, or by some other key contribution.

But God tells us that:

Isaiah, Chapter 64, Verse 6
“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”

Examples of Two Sins Committed by the Founding Fathers

The first sin was when the founding fathers called themselves fathers. The Bible tells us:

Matthew, Chapter 23, Verse 9
“And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”

The second sin was when the founding fathers established the godly treatment the President receives when he is in command.

I was watching an investigative news report the other night on television and there was a very interesting story about this very topic.  The President of the United States is treated like a god and the first lady is treated like a goddess.  The report explained how this level of prestige and power affected the President and his family; and how their lives are changed forever.  Personally, I would never want to be in a powerful position like this and I pray for those people who choose this level of career.

While I believe it is very important to protect the life of our President and his family, I do not see a need for a personal butler, valet and a staff of 100s.  In addition, the President has unlimited power and wealth and can live a celebrity status lifestyle.  In my opinion, some of these luxury perks could be eliminated and are not necessary for protecting the Presidents life.

Perhaps this article will help you to look at God for guidance rather than sinful men with righteousness is as filthy rags.
