On
March 2, 2009, I was driving home from the post office. God said
to me: "I want to show you something. Get on Highway 24 and I will direct
you where to go." As a seasoned Christian who has spent a good
portion of my life in prayer, I have learned what God's voice sounds like
and also to follow His direction.
As I drove West on Highway
24 from Colorado Springs, Colorado, I was facing Pikes Peak. The spirit
of God came over me and I began crying tears of joy. I was crying
so much that I was afraid I would have to pull the car over to the side
of the road. But I wiped my tears and tried to control myself, which
was difficult because I was so overcome with emotion.
I did not pay any attention
to the time or where I was driving. Instead, I was directing my sole
attention to following the voice of God. I knew He had something to show
me and I had to know what it was. God led me to Exit 141 and to the
Garden of the Gods road in Manitou Springs. I had been to the Garden
of the Gods before but God directed me past the point I had stopped previously
and told me to continue driving. Suddenly God told me to pull over
and park. When I did, I discovered a walking path that I would have
never found on my own. I got out of the car and began walking. The
caption appearing below the photo to the right lays the ground work for
the experience I am getting ready to share with you.
